To learn how to see through a viewfinder and transfer that image to paper. Students will take their own photographs of a still-life that is already constructed. After choosing one they begin to recognize and separate the highlights from the shadows using different mediums to represent each. They will render the objects in correct proportion with clean craftsmanship.

Analogous color theme
objective
To utilize multiple different figure drawing techniques to show gesture and realistic poses in correct proportion. Students will learn framing and create a photo shoot using a backdrop and lighting to create a reference image. This will be rendered onto paper using oil pastels or sticks in an analogous color scheme to create depth and figure/ground relationship.
